I now have a studio located in downtown Moab, just a block from the Visitor’s Center, that includes a classroom and am proud to be able to offer workshops for individuals who want to improve their skills. You can book a half-day short-course to learn basic skills, or a full day intensive learning experience.
Each workshop will include classroom time to learn the basics of camera operation and the principles of composition. Then we will go into the field to practice the skills taught in the classroom. I will demonstrate techniques and provide instruction in how to make better compositions. Finally, it’s back to the studio to edit the image files, select a favorite image, work up the file in Photoshop and make a print for you to take home.
Half-day workshop short-courses will run four or five hours and can be scheduled for either morning or afternoon. The cost is $300 for one person and $100 for additional participants up to a maximum of three.
Full-day workshops will include more time in the field and will run about nine or ten hours. You will practice your new skills in several different areas around Moab, choosing from among two national parks, Dead Horse Point State Park, and other magnificent scenic places. The cost is $500 for one person and $150 for additional participants up to a maximum of three. Full-day workshops include a picnic lunch.
Each participant will receive a copy of my eight-page folder Camera Basics, and also the eight-page 7 Key Secrets to Better Landscape Photos.
